The Case for Part-Time Jobs
Just like most people, my first job was part-time. This is due to the fact that full-time jobs are not easy to get nowadays, and generally require less responsibility. Most employers are fond of hiring people for part-time jobs, as they mostly don’t require them to give out benefits. My first job was as a writing and English instructor at my local college. I believe that it was a stepping stone towards a future full-time job, and also made me aware of the fact that I adore teaching and interacting with various people.
The most interesting thing is that I didn’t get the best grades in English when I was in high school. However, when I joined college, my grades improved, and I started enjoying everything about the English language. I developed a passion for writing. Everything that relates to English that didn’t make sense in high school suddenly made sense in college. When I landed that tutoring job, I was eager to assist the students with their assignments. I was also able to do other things during the day that were important.
One thing that I learned there was that students who were not native English speakers were better writers than the native ones that I handled. This was probably due to the fact that the non-natives took their studies of English grammar and punctuation seriously, unlike the native speakers. Moreover, in that college, people were very friendly. This was not like when I was in high school where I was mostly alone and spent most of my time with books and my personal computer. In college, I began to open up. In addition to enjoying interacting with various people from different backgrounds, I was able to plan my day around the students, or the other way round. When it comes to full-time jobs, I would be required to devote so much time each day to one task. However, with a part-time job, I could concentrate on my studies and also other tasks. Now that I have a full-time job, I don’t have a lot of freedom like I had while working part-time.
In my opinion, for us to have balance in our lives, there’s a need to change this narrative of working eight hours in a day, five days a week. Working for five to six hours a day is ideal. It is more efficient than eight hours daily. It will motivate people to complete set projects. As a result of working eight hours, people end up feeling tired, thus, less work is completed. Employees will feel more focused on their tasks if they work for five to six hours. Doing part-time jobs will make one healthier, happier, and will focus more on his/her responsibilities. From my own experience, working eight hours a day, five times a week is not ideal for any person.

The Necessity of Going to School
Going to school is considered an essential stage for every child the world over. However, in my opinion, with most professions, going to a private or public school is not needed to accomplish a particular level of competence. As a content writer, I believe that if I didn’t go to school, I don’t think that my skills in this profession would be any less. As a matter of fact, they might be enhanced if I had not gone to school.
One can vouch for the notion that education is crucial for all children since they have no clear idea of what they would like to be when they grow up. Nonetheless, if you ask them what they want to be in the future, they will mention things like doctor, model, actor, engineer, etc. They do have an idea of what they want to pursue from an early age. I believe that children have an idea of how their future would look like. This idea gets clear and advances with time, although it’s my view that children should dive into their discipline of choice from an early age. Rather than making children be involved in a type of education whereby they get to learn every subject at once, it would be good for the child if they concentrate on the thing they really want to do. In some countries, when a child reaches the 9th grade, they know the basics of reading, writing, math, science, among others. Therefore, it’s not a must for one to get a full high school education for him/her to be a functioning citizen.
For instance, in my case, I knew what I wanted to be when I joined high school; some sort of a writer. Someone who can create content. As a matter of fact, I was a fan of story writing. I wasn’t a fan of the sciences, math, and technical subjects. I felt that writing was the only thing that I developed a bond with. Writing was not about remembering stuff so that you can pass an exam. I felt like a robot processing figures and formulas when I dealt with other subjects. From that point, I knew what I wanted to be involved in; writing. If the authorities informed me that I could study writing only for around six hours daily, five days a week, I would have been overjoyed. I would have enjoyed my school days. I would have gone to school even during the weekends!
I’m a content writer at the moment. Learning other subjects in high school didn’t change my profession. That does not mean that the other subjects didn’t add to my skills. They did, but not that much. In my opinion, well-read people like writers have more knowledge that than those who consider themselves as well educated. In addition, writers can be termed as well rounded and more informed. Writers spend a lot of time in libraries (physical and online) and take in a lot of information more than high school and college student does. Concentrating on one occupation from an early age will yield more results as compared to generalized education. At times, I wonder how my writing skills would be now if I had concentrated on writing and literature rather than subjects that did not influence me a lot in my profession.
All in all, if someone in the current system of focused education feels as if they are missing something in a particular field, then that person can join a class that will help him/her gain knowledge to function fully in our society. I also think that college ought to be centered on a person’s major since that is how specialists are produced. That’s why I went to the college I chose; they allowed this option.
With these considerations and going through either reflective essay example given, you’re in a better place to write one of your own. All the best!
